Hi, a few weeks back my neighbor 2 floors above had a leakage in the shower causing substantial water damage to my living room walls. The owner (foreigner, Dutch) refuses to accept any responsibility or cover the cost ca. RM 2,000 for fixing, painting my walls and fixing damaged furniture. In Europe this wouldn't really be up for discussion as home owners usually have liability insurances and if not can be sued to pay for the damage.
What is the legal situation here in Malaysia?
