Should I buy now? If the property bubble crashes I may be able to buy cheaper 2nd hand. This is an argument I had 8 months ago for Alila 2. If you buy now at RM 1,100/sqft but you can only move in in mid 2018... by that time the market may have crashed and you possibly could get it for 800/sqft. That way you win double... interest for 2 years on RM1.5m plus a cheaper condo.. so for investment you can't really lose

Bubbles... bubbles everywhere in the world. The price per sqft for many apartments/condos in Penang is close to what people pay in the city center of KL. It is around RM1000 for many properties in Penang. Go to KLCC and you will also get that kind of pricing. The rental return is really very bad in Penang. No poing buying a property at RM1000 and renting out at RM3 per sqft

if it is a house or apartment that they wish to stay, then let them buy. Rental is a different story in Penang and in fact practically local residents do not rent, they buy to stay (the not so expensive ones). It is only the foreginers who rent. So, if you buy at a place where no foreigners rent, then tough luck
