Community service and FYI - This is just to inform everyone reading this post that when you buy a shoplot at a shopping center, please beware. It used to be a trend some 10-20 years ago for people to buy shop lots in shopping malls and rent them out. However, the current trend is towards large malls operated by large companies like Capitaland. Consumers also tend to flock to large and upscale malls compared to small ones. I have many friends who had this issue. Furthermore, there is a lot of dispute on the service charge and the basic house rules of the shopping center is not followed. Some of them have their products displayed outside the shop (along the walkway) and it makes it very narrow. People will just skip the shopping center and go to large malls. Therefore, you may end up with a shoplot that no one wants to rent.
Most of the shopping centers at large cities are basically "built to rent" now and managed by large companies or REIT. In smaller cities, there are still shoplots available for sale at shopping centers. Just watch out.... buyer's beware
